<P> 苦竹溪在罗汉峰西侧。溪水出自洗药源。洗药源位钵盂峰下，又名“掷钵源”，源深30余里，传说有丞相隐居于此，俗名“丞相源”。丞相源水经九龙瀑注人苦竹溪。该溪流经青屯公路附近二个小山村，此村以苦竹溪为村名，是东路登山的门户。早在清乾隆三十二年（1767年），两江总督高晋为迎接圣驾南巡曾在这里竖起一座“胜境坊”，虽已毁于十年动乱之中，但坊址犹存。相传，苦竹溪原名“古迹溪”，溪边住着一位姑娘，爱上了一位小伙子。后来当地一财主看中这姑娘，便设下毒计将小伙子杀死，霸占姑娘为妾。姑娘悲痛欲绝，逃进竹林，在小伙子坟上哭得死去活来，心酸的泪水浸透了坟土，滋润了竹林，流进了溪中。从此，这里的竹子、溪水都含有苦味，于是，古迹溪就被改名为“苦竹溪”。沿溪景点颇多，风光优美。民国人傅增湘有诗赞曰：“增竹溪边路，溪光醮碧沙。笋舆停野店，瓦盏试新茶。观瀑因思雨，闻香不见花。结庐傍黄海，胜景妪能夺。”</P></TD></TR></TABLE></P>
