<P>Why: Since 1985, the indestructible Sombrero has kept our heads and necks dry in deluges from northern Canada to the Carolinas to the Northwest's rainforests. It's packable, the brim is stiff enough in all but the strongest winds, and the tail is elongated to channel water over your jacket collar, not under it. Sure, the styling is vintage '80s, but who cares about fashion when the rain is falling so hard you can't see your fingers in front of your face? </P>
